All About: Kate Sullivan

Kate Sullivan is a current undergraduate student at Denison University, Granville, OH.  Kate is a double major in Educational Studies and Psychology and hopefully a minor in Communication.  Kate is hoping to pursue her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education after graduation.

Kate is an aspiring elementary school teacher, who finds people fascinating! Kate has a passion for helping others, especially today’s youth. Kate finds today’s youth to be so important because they are going to be our future. Kate has been an assistant teacher in Newark and Granville schools, a tutor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a group leader in City Year’s Young Heroes.

As a current junior, Kate has been involved in many activities on Denison’s campus: as a member of the equestrian team, manager of the hockey team, assistant caller at Annual Fund, and a member of a sorority.  She continues to find herself getting involved in more activities and being active on campus anyway she can.

Kate is prepared to create her own blog to inspire those similar to Greg Mortenson, who is author of Three Cups of Tea and Stones and Schools [Mortenson has devoted his life to building schools in the remotest mountains of Pakistan and other countries].  Kate is as well doing this for her Public Speaking course at Denison.  Kate wants to empower people through her stories and insights on today’s culture and society.

Kate is originally from Darien, CT and since being in Granville, OH from her freshman year at Denison she has become accustomed to the Midwestern lifestyle.  She is now smiling and slowing down her lifestyle compared to her previous New York City pace of life.
