All About Mya

Howdy Partner,

Mya Price is a ray of sunshine. Born and raised in Kentucky, where sporting cowboy boots and singing ” Love Song” by Taylor Swift was the everyday thing to do. Grateful to leave the birthplace home of Kentucky fried chicken, she set her site on Denison University located in Granville, Ohio where this would serve as her new home. With her bright personality, positive attitude, and randomly collective colorful wardrobe, Mya Price is on a mission to change the views of Denison’s campus and students by focusing her attention on the subject of diversity.

As a first year student at Denison University, Mya has dove into a multitude of student organizations and an interesting set of classes. Serving as a community senator for the Denison Community Government Association (DCGA), an employee at the Bandersnatch coffeehouse, a tour guide, an active member of the La Fuerza club geared toward serving the Latino community, joining the Rugby team, and getting through the piles of homework each day, has definitely been a life changing opportunity for Mya. A person may be overwhelmed with reading this last sentence, but again, it is college people. Mya Price is a dedicated, unique, fun gal that spends the majority of her time laughing.

As far as classes here at Denison, Mya has found a passion for Ceramics. She enjoys the fact of starting out with a piece of clay and shaping it into a tangible piece of artwork. Mya also likes the fact that this class serves as a form of therapy that allows for a release of stress and lets her step out of the crazy world for a couple of hours. Who knows, maybe one day in the near future, Mya’s complex life will involve her majoring in Communication and taking up Studio Art as a minor.
